Aberdeen coach hire is the perfect way to explore the local area, whilst having all your travel requirements covered. Aberdeen is Scotland’s third most populous city with nearly 200,000 people all living within the local authority area. Aberdeen is the powerhouse of upper east Scotland, fuelled by the North Sea oil industry. Oil money has made the city as costly as London and Edinburgh, and there are lodgings, restaurants and clubs with costs to match the rising prices of the area. Luckily, a large portion of the social attractions, for example, the phenomenal Maritime Museum and the Aberdeen Art Gallery, are free and excellent places to see when visiting Aberdeen.
Aberdeen has been given the nickname Granite City due to its incorporation of locally quarried granite for many of the buildings within the city. The area has been settled for over 8,000 years, with small settlements beginning around the mouths of both the river Dee and Don starting Aberdeens story. Some Gaelic scholars believe the name to come from ‘Aber’ and ‘da-aevin’ meaning “the mouth of two rivers.” Although there is no consensus on the exact origin of the name it does seem to hold water as the Romans initially called the area Devana.
Aberdeen is home to many distinctive castles. The local area contains almost 300, and most significantly for Aberdeen is Slains Castle built in 1597 by the Earl of Erroll. Although in some disrepair now, it still remains one of the most historic sights in Aberdeen and a must see for anyone visiting the area.
Whiskey is embedded in scottish culture and you are never too far from a distillery, and Aberdeen is no exception. The two most notable being Glen Garioch Distillery and Glen Dronnach. The Glen Garioch area was picked by John and Alexander Manson for their malt whisky refinery in 1797. Oldmeldrum in the celebrated ‘Valley of the Garioch’ was named “The Granary of Aberdeenshire”, popular for creating the finest grain in all of Scotland. They both offer guided tours and can be the perfect way to spend your time whilst visiting Aberdeen.
If whiskey and castles are not entirely up your street, Aberdeen boasts some of the finest restaurants in Scotland. For excellent modern scottish cuisine then the Adelphi Kitchen and Moonfish Cafe are loved by locals and tourists alike for a contemporary take on traditional scottish dishes. If you are looking for something a little faster then the Ashvale Fish Restaurant offers some of the best fish and chips in the whole country.

We were very pleased with the service we received. Our home is not easy to find but the driver had left plenty of time to follow our instructions when he phoned for help. He was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely use and recommend this company again especially for groups of 6 and above.

My family were going out to Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. The price was fantastic to take 10 of us out including multiple pick up and drop offs. The driver Atif was extremely pleasant, prompt and accommodating. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again. Kind Regards, Stephanie International Business Manager.
